First driving 60 KM on the coast of the Red Sea towards Safaga the next city to Hurghada, then driving 160 KM through the eastern desert of Egypt from the coast of the Red Sea towards the Nile valley.
The first city you are reacting on the Valley is Qena, and Qena is 60 KM far from Luxor, so 220 KM the whole distance from Hurghada to Qena.
A rest stop halfway between the pickup and drop-off times, in a coffee shop where you may have breakfast and use the restrooms. Then we drive to Qena and Sohag to visit:
Abydos Temple
One of the country’s most prominent religious institutions, the necropolis of Abydos situated 9 miles (15 km) south of Balyana. Since the Old Kingdom, Osiris, the deity of death and vegetation, was worshipped here.
The temple of Sety I is notable for its architecture and reliefs in the New Kingdom.

Dendera Temple
Dendera, the old Tantera dubbed Tentyris by the Greeks, has tombs from the earliest dynasties and was the capital of Egypt’s sixth nome.
Begun during late Ptolemaic rulers (possibly Ptolemy XII), two Roman construction stages followed.
